Privacy Policy

We take your privacy seriously — especially here.

Last updated: April 12, 2026  ·  Living Out Loud Counseling & Consultation

Important: This Privacy Policy applies to this website only. It is separate from our HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices, which governs how we handle your protected health information as a therapy client. You will receive that notice when you begin services through our client portal.

Living Out Loud Counseling & Consultation ("we," "us," or "our") operates the website at livingoutloudcounseling.com. This page explains what information we collect when you visit our site, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information in two ways:

  • Information you provide directly — When you submit our contact form or review form, we collect the information you enter (such as your name, email address, phone number, and message).
  • Information collected automatically — When you visit our site, standard technical data may be collected by third-party services we use (see Section 4), such as your browser type, device, and approximate location.

We do not collect any protected health information (PHI) through this website. Any clinical information shared during therapy is handled exclusively through SimplePractice, our HIPAA-compliant practice management platform.

2. How We Use Your Information

Information submitted through our contact or review forms is used solely to:

  • Respond to your inquiry or message
  • Schedule a consultation or appointment
  • Publish approved reviews on our Stories page (reviews only, and only with your consent)

We do not use your information for marketing, sell it to third parties, or share it with anyone outside our practice except as described in this policy.

3. Contact & Review Forms (Formspree)

Our website forms are processed by Formspree (formspree.io), a third-party form service. When you submit a form, your data is transmitted to Formspree's servers and then forwarded to us by email. Formspree's privacy policy is available at formspree.io/legal/privacy-policy.

We do not store form submissions on our website's servers.

4. Client Portal (SimplePractice)

Our "Book a Session" and "Request Appointment" buttons link to our client portal, hosted by SimplePractice. SimplePractice is a HIPAA-compliant platform. Any information you enter there — including health history, insurance details, and payment information — is governed by SimplePractice's privacy policy and our practice's HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices, not this document.

5. Google Fonts

This website loads fonts from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com). When your browser requests these fonts, Google may receive your IP address and browser information. Google's privacy policy is available at policies.google.com/privacy.

6. Cookies

This website does not use its own cookies or tracking scripts. Third-party services embedded in this site (such as Google Fonts and SimplePractice widgets) may set cookies according to their own policies. You can control cookie settings through your browser.

7. Data Retention

Form submissions are retained in our email inbox and deleted when no longer needed. We do not maintain a separate database of website form submissions.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Request a copy of any personal information we hold about you
  • Ask us to correct or delete your information
  • Opt out of any future communications from us

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at questions@livingoutloudcounseling.com.

9. Children's Privacy

This website is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted information through this site, please contact us immediately.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of this website after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
